What is a Cult? it seems everything is a Cult!

Hey, it’s me again. So in today’s episode I want to let you know, that I decided to read the Bible before I attend the Bible study at the Church of God, the reason is that I don’t want to be ignorant about the Bible when I attend this Bible study. I began to read the New Testament (because the Old Testament is too complicated), and to my surprise what did I find, by using my cult checklist that I got online, I came to find out that Christianity is the biggest cult in the world. I also found out that all around me, I am surrounded by cults. In the next paragraph we will see examples of this:

1) Cults Claim to Have all Knowing leadership:
John 21:17 {the third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.}

2) Cults only teach you up to what you are able to believe:
Hebrews 5:11 {We much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn.}

3) Cults claim no room for differences(Everybody is the same):
Colossians 3:11 {Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.}

4) Cults claim to introduce a new and better way:
Hebrews 7:18-19 {the former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.}

5) Cult members should imitate cult leader:
Philippians 2:5 {your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus}
Also Colossians 3:11 of example 3.

6) Cults isolate you from your family:
Matthew 10:37 {anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me}

7) Cults Brainwash ignorant and people who have no critical thinking.
Acts 4:13 {when they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.}

8) Cults Recruit people:
Mk 16:15-16 {He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned}

9) Cults always claim Persecution of the Leader:
Acts 22:6-8 {"About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, 'Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?' 'Who are you, Lord?' I asked " 'I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,' he replied.}

10) Cults have ignorant leaders:
John 7:14-16 {Not until halfway through the Feast did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach. The Jews were amazed and asked, "How did this man get such learning without having studied?"}

11) Cults try to keep members busy:
Acts 2:46-47 {every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

12) Cult leaders always try to gain your trust:
John 14:1 {"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me}

13) Cults believe that by your actions you prove your faith:
James 2:17 {in the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, Is dead.}

14) Cults claim salvation is through obedience before the end comes:
Matthew 24:42 {“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.}

15) Cults make members dependant to the cult leader:
John 15:5 {“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.}

16) Cults claim that there is no exit apart from the cult:
John 6:67-68 {“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.}

17) Cult members claim to have “Spiritual Battles”:
Ephesians 6:12 {for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.}

18) Cults try to keep things secret:
Matthew 17:9 {As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, "Don't tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead."}

19) Cult leaders claim to be the only way, and supreme authority:
John 14:6 {Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.}

And for the sake of space and time, I omitted the teachings of: Judaism, Mohammed, Buddha, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Copernicus, Galileo…etc.
If we are going to judge groups and organizations by these standards, then every single organization and religion is a cult. This is nonsense, the whole cult categorization of the World Mission Society Church of God is ruled out of the picture, the only thing left for me to do, is to go an study the Bible, to find out if their teachings really come from the Bible. So we’ll see what happens when I attend this bible study, if they are able to backup their beliefs solely through the Bible. Till next time….keep posted.

What has the world come to when it is a cult to follow God and the Bible? I don't attend this church, but I am a Christian and based on this so-called "cult checklist," Christianity is a cult. That's a pretty dangerous list to go by. If Christ Ahnsahnghong turns out to be God, in the end those who opposed this church will be fighting against God, as it says in the Bible. That's why I just believe in God and judge no one.

do you happen to know the verse of Acts 24:5 "We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect "
the early church also called as Nazarene sect. Who can judge which is cult. Only the Bible tells us. please study God's word so that you can see the true savior

You know, someone mentioned this to me before, that Christianity is actually a cult. Yea, try telling that to 1+ Billion followers worldwide, not smart. I've been checking out this church for a few months now, and let me tell you, I'm still waiting for the "cult" part to take place, there's none. Ahnsahnghong is Christ, believe it or not. On the other hand, people in front of a PC all day writing negative comments on a church all day long... that sounds pretty "cult-ish" to me.

That's an extensive list. I hope your bible study goes well. Let me know if you learn anything about Christ Ahnsahnghong. Im curious to see whether he is testified about in the Bible.

Wow looking at these definitions of a cult it seems that 2,000 years ago Jesus and his disciples were a cult. But many would agree nowadays that the thought of them being a cult is rediculous b/c Jesus brought salvation. Nowadays Christ AhnSahngHong brought salvation to the Church of God World Mission Society and now many people say its a cult. In the same way it is pretty rediculous. Just as people realized Jesus and his followers were not a cult but true, they will realize Christ AhnSahngHong is the true second coming Christ through the Bible.

WOW, THIS A SOME SOLID PIECE OF WORK!
I just recently visited that church too, the church of God. Man, that place is not a cult! Not like the way people mean it nowadays. I like that place because unlike other churches, they don't tell you to believe what they say, but believe the bible, and everything they teach is from the bible so there you go. COME ON PEOPLE!

That's pretty ironic. Many of the people who told me that I was in a cult when I came to the Church of God World Mission Society obviously didn't know the definition of a cult. Based on these criteria, the Church of God is judged because we believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother, however, the early Christian was judged in the same way because of Jesus. Continue to study so you can see all the prophecies described in the Bible, it's truly amazing.

If we have to judge then the whole world is in various cults. God is Almighty and only God can judge the people. Then I want to follow whatever the bible says from there you make the judgement. No matter what anyone says i follow God!

Cult?? I've always pictured a cult like people that are mean and force you to do things you don't wanna do. There is no way Church of God World Mission Society who believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong is a cult. Where else can I go an be greeted with the most beautiful smiles? I'm just gonna follow what the bible says and forget about what people say.

People are so consumed in their own thinking. Everything is a cult! They forget that Christ was rejected, mocked, and killed because the people back then thought he was a cult leader. That's why it wasn't so shocking when I heard that people now are saying the same about Father Ahnsahnhong. It's more proof to the fact that He is the true Christ. As a follower, i feel kindda cool. It's like living the disciples lives all over again except without all the violence.

"It's a cult" they say. But they don't realize that by calling the Church of God a cult, they are calling God, a cult leader.
Because the leader of the Church of God is none other than God Himself.
They claim to believe in God but they deny and reject His word. Word which the Church of God teaches. They fulfill the prophecy of the role that the Jewish people played 2000 years ago, when Christ came and was crucified.

This is sooooooooooo amazing. I never thought about it like that but it completely 100% true. Always accusation on accusation, but never looking at how we live our own lives. What is it that we are really following/be;ieving in? If it doesnt flow with the mainstream beliefs, it is considered a cult- quite comical, because it is just the opposite in God's eyes!! Thanks always to our Father Christ Ahnsahnghong and Mother Jerusalem for everything!!!!
